I have participated in six total solar eclipse trips and expeditions around the world (Aruba 1998; Romania 1999; Zambia, 2001; Ceduna, Australia, 2002; Bryson City, North Carolina 2017; Mazatlan, 2024) to date and each one has been magnificent and a transformational experience. I encourage you to experience one and put yourself in the shadow of the moon at least one in your life if at all possible.

I will be participating as a guest presenter on the Enlivened Cooperative (link here)August 2026 trip to Spain to experience the 2026 total solar eclipse. They are still finalizing details with the itinerary and I will post a link to the trip here when it's available.

Below is what I wrote up prior to the 2024 eclipse trip, and I plan to update this at some point for the upcoming 2026 eclipse.
Here is a view of the eclipse as it will be seen in the sky above Mazatlan, which is on the centerline of totality for the eclipse: click here
Here is a link to an interactive map, showing the eclipse path as it crosses Mexico and the USA.
You can also watch a cool video showing the shadow of the moon racing across the Earth during the eclipse here: https://www.greatamericaneclipse.com/april-8-2024
When we observe the eclipse in Mazatlan, here is the view of the sky we may see:

When we observe the eclipse in Mazatlan, here is the view of the sky we may see:
Notice that there will be four planets visible - Jupiter, Venus, Mercury, and Saturn and the stars of the Autumn night sky! This is because these stars are visible in the daytime six months from when they'll be visible at night. The sun is right in the middle of the constellation Pisces, so if this your birth sign, here's your chance to see the sun in your sign!
